Pocket let you save an article with a single click and return to it later from any device. Its clear, lightweight feel meant I used it every day.
When Pocket shut down, I felt the gap it left behind.
It held the links that caught my eye and kept them organized for quieter moments. Pocket quietly helped me stay on top of the flow of information.
And then, almost without warning, it was gone.
If it doesn’t exist, build it
I searched for alternatives. Many were overloaded with features or felt too complicated. None captured the clarity and focus Pocket had.
So I decided: if I could not find the service I wanted, I would create it myself.
That is how Pokket began.
Inspired by Pocket, built for today
Pokket owes a great deal to Pocket, but it is not a clone. I want to honor the values Pocket represented while evolving the experience for how we read now.
One of those evolutions is AI summaries. Pokket condenses saved articles so you can grasp the essentials quickly, keeping the experience simple yet more helpful.
Built to keep going
Pokket is an indie project. Sustainability matters, so I am designing it to keep improving over time.
That is why I am introducing ads and considering a paid plan. The goal is to keep Pokket reliable for people who rely on it every day.
A design you can care about
The app icon nods to Pocket’s feel while adding an eye to give it expression. It stays simple and friendly—something you might enjoy seeing every day.
What Pokket stands for
Pokket is not a nostalgic replica. It is a personal space for your information: a way to save easily and revisit without friction.
It is about turning what you collect into knowledge. That is the experience I want to offer with Pokket.
Pokket exists to make your read-it-later moments feel better. Try it and see the difference for yourself.
